Leadership
Founded and led from Nürnberg
Cognivox Labs was founded by Shehan Samarasena in Nürnberg. He holds an MSc in Information Systems from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), with a thesis on retrieval-augmented generation - the foundation of the company's applied-AI practice.
His background combines finance and management information systems with software engineering. Engagements therefore start from the business problem and its constraints before any technology decision is made.
Technical direction, architecture, and client engagement are led personally from Nürnberg. Delivery is carried out by our engineering team in Sri Lanka.

Nürnberg - the client hub
Client operations, technical direction, architecture, and delivery accountability. You work with a German counterpart under a German contract - remotely or in person at our Nürnberg office. Systems run on EU-hosted infrastructure and are designed with GDPR and the EU AI Act in mind.
Sri Lanka - the engineering team
Our engineering team in Sri Lanka covers backend, frontend, mobile, and QA. It carries out delivery across all engagements, working day to day with technical leadership in Nürnberg.
CeyYes, a production marketplace platform, is built and operated by Cognivox Labs across this Germany-Sri Lanka structure.
